W. Keith Garrett, 81, of Tempe AZ, passed away Friday, October 29, 2010 in Tempe. Mr. Garrett, an entrepreneur was born in Wellsville UT. He served an LDS mission in the North Central States mission and graduated from Utah State University. He also served in the US Army as an officer during the Korean War. He returned to school graduating with an MBA from Brigham Young University and continued his career. He dedicated his life to serving his family and church. He is pre-deceased by his wife Leota and brother Fred. He is survived by his sister Ella Maughan, eight children Keith (Karen), Monte (Michele), John (Delynn), Marcia (Jeff) Penrod, Marie (Bill) Owens, Cheryl (Warren) Schick, Stephen (Brooke) and Adele (Doug) Taylor. He is also survived by 30 grand-children. Visitation is Wednesday Nov. 3, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa AZ 85201. Funeral services are Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 at 1 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Lakeshore Chapel, 6001 S Lakeshore Dr, Tempe. Additional visitation will be Saturday Nov. 6, 2010 from 10:30 – 11:30 AM at the Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St, Logan UT. Interment will follow in the Wellsville City Cemetery.

Allison Ann Bowers(1999-2010)

Beloved daughter and sister Allison Ann Bowers, age 11, passed away in a tragic bicycle accident on October 26, 2010. She was born in Provo, Utah, on January 21, 1999, to her loving parents, Robert and Melinda Bowers. Allison, a very spiritual, teachable girl who had read the entire Book of Mormon by herself, was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was in the 6th grade at Hale Elementary School in Mesa. Those around her knew her creative and artistic talents; she loved to write, read, draw, garden, and cook. She liked to eat homemade rolls, tamales, and guacamole. She was a peacemaker in her family and would take care of her younger sisters and brother. Allison was also full of energy and enjoyed climbing, hiking, running, biking, swimming, kite flying, and playing tag. She especially loved playing with her cousins, and they have many fond memories of fun times spent with her. She loved her parents and family and was loved by them in return. Allison always wanted to go explore new things with her father and she described her mother as her hero in a school assignment, citing the times they spent together reading, cooking, and painting. A younger sister said Allison was always there when she needed her. Her immediate and extended family all loved her beautiful smile and her amazing spirit. Allison is survived by her parents, Robert and Melinda Bowers; older brother, Robbie; three younger siblings, Johanna, Dallin, and Emily; grandparents Robert and Pat Bowers and James and Ann Tanner; and an extended family of 15 aunts and uncles and 25 cousins. She will be deeply missed by all of them. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Delight J. Bowers. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 10 a.m. in the Mesa 24th Street LDS Chapel (1911 North 24th St., Mesa, AZ 85213). Relatives and friends may call at Bunker’s Garden Chapel (33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ 85201) on Monday, Nov. 1, from 6-8 p.m., and at the 24th Street Chapel from 9-9:40 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Mesa City Cemetery (1212 N. Center Street, Mesa, AZ 85201).

Claudia Hope DeTemple, 89, of Portland, OR passed away Oct. 24, 2010 in Mesa, AZ. She was born in Portland on July 1, 1921 and lived her whole life in Oregon until just 3 months ago when she came to Arizona. She graduated from Kellogg Elementary School and Franklin High School and spent most of her life as a loving and caring homemaker. Hope was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be surely missed by her family. Hope was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold DeTemple, and great-granddaughter, Sophie Hope DeTemple. She is survived by her children, David J. (Elaine) DeTemple of Gilbert, AZ, and Claudia Diane (John) McDermott of Stayton, OR, 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Zachary Joseph Marco, 21 years of age, born September 20, 1989, was tragically taken from us October 17, 2010. The oldest of three children, Zach is survived by his parents, Daniel J and Claudia R Marco, his beloved sisters Kathleen (Katie) Danielle, and Michelle Rae, grandparents, Richard J. Marco, Sr. and Shirley Ann Marco of Medina, Ohio, and Evelyn R. Bochkoros of Middleburgh Heights, Ohio, aunts Cheryl Lynn Pobega and Camila Bochkoros, uncles Richard J. Marco, Jr., and Kenneth J. Marco, as well as numerous cousins. Zack was a junior at the Barretts Honors College of Arizona State University where he was studying Political Science and Philosophy. He planned on joining his father in the practice of law. Zachary was beloved, not only by his family and friends, but by numerous people he met at ASU where he tutored Political Science and at Red Mountain High School where he lettered in football, wrestling and cross-country. He made many friends at the Arizona State Senate while serving as a Page, on all of whom, he left his mark. Zack also participated in a number of service organizations, including Habitat for Humanity. There will be a viewing at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ on Tuesday, October 26th, 2010 from 6-8 PM. A short memorial service will be held Wed., Oct 27, 2010 at 1 PM at Central Christian Church, 933 N. Lindsay Road in Mesa. Donations may be made to the Tempe Police Department’s Silent Witness Program (480 WITNESS) in Zack’s name. Zack – We so miss and love you! There is so much more that could be written about his life till today, and so much of his life that will remain unwritten forever.

Martha D. DiSylvester, 79. On Sunday, October 10th the world lost some of its sparkle with the unexpected loss of a wonderful, beautiful woman who could light up an entire room with her smile. Born in Johnstown, NY, she eventually moved to Arizona where she lived for 37 years. She is predeceased by the love of her life, Peter, in 1997 and is survived by her children Joanne (George) Bacon, Vicki Comstock, William Comstock, and Paul (Adrian) DiSylvester. Leon McClelland, Sr.
1932/04/09 - 2010/10/05

Leon McClelland was born April 9, 1932 in Annona, Texas to Charlie and Onnie (Wooten) McClelland. He attended school in Paris, Texas and graduated from B.J. Graves High School. After high school he was drafted in to the US Army in 1952 and served in the Korean War. After leaving the army he moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1955.

Leon worked as a civil servant at Williams Field Air Fore Base where he was honored for his faithful, dependable service. He always had a second job because he was a hard worker. While working at the base he also worked for the City of Mesa at the Washington Activity Center for many years. After 30 years of service, he retired from the base, but continued working at the Washington Activity Center. He was known by the whole community. He also worked at Arizona State University as a student parking lot attendant.

He belonged to the NCAACP where he served as the treasurer in the Mesa chapter for many years. He attended numerous city council meetings, making his voice heard on important issues. If anyone had any issued in the community they knew they could come to him and he would help in any way he could. He helped many home owners in the Washington neighborhood participate in the city house program, receiving new houses built in exchange for their old homes. He worked tirelessly serving his community. He was an active member of the Helping Hands Club for many years also.

Leon’s past time was the loved playing dominoes with his friends. One of his favorite sayings when he was playing was “Crissie Mae or Christine aware big feet and bad hair

Eric Kimball Lines, age 28, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Gilbert, AZ, on Wednesday, October 6, 2010. Eric was born in Mesa, Arizona on December 15, 1981, to Ted and Marjean Lines. Eric is survived by his loving parents, and will be greatly missed by his amazing five brothers and four sisters: Michel (Shanon) Lines of Queen Creek, Bryan (Tara) Lines of San Tan Valley, Brent (Lea) Lines of Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire, UK, David Lines and Stephen Lines, both of Gilbert, Lisa (Brett) Monson of Mesa, Michelle (Lionel) Holguin of Phoenix, Heather Lines (Eric’s twin) of Mesa, Melissa (Todd) Brown of Chicago, Ill. Eric is also survived by his sweet widowed grandmothers, Elaine Lines of Gilbert and Maurine Cluff of Queen Creek. Eric was admired and looked up to by his twelve nieces and five nephews. A viewing will be held on Sunday evening, October 10, at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ, from 6-8 PM. Services for our sweet Eric will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1520 S. Catalina Street, Gilbert, AZ, on Monday, October 11 at 10 AM. An additional viewing is at 9 AM prior to the services. Interment will be at the City of Mesa Cemetery, 1212 N. Center Street, Mesa, AZ. MICHAEL LEE MOLGARD, April 19, 1976 – September 8, 2010

Our Son, Father, Brother, Uncle and Friend “Mikey” left this world Sept. 8 to return to his heavenly and earthly father. To know Michael was to love and be loved by him. In this

life he lived on the edge but everyone he touched will remember him always for his gift of laughter, kindness, unconditional love and tears he so freely shed with and for others. In his passing, per his wishes, he shared the gift of life with others through organ donation.

Michael was the father of two sons, Michael Lee,Jr and Kyle Phillip who live with their mother, Kesia in Campinas, Brazil. Son of Jim and Donna, (his father preceded him in death), youngest brother to Steven, Laurie and Jimmy. “Uncle Mikey” loved his nieces and nephews, Lance, Camron, Mandy, Josh, Ashlee, Madison and Logan. Also, special friends who were like family, Heather, Justin, Waylan, Kira, Eric, and Craig.

Private memorial services will be held for family and his final resting place will be with his father in the Willard Cemetery.

Sanders, Duane D., 61, passed on October 1, 2010 in Columbus, GA. Duane was born June 22, 1949 to the late Lee Ellis and Dorothy Louise Sanders. He was also preceded in death by brother, Larry and daughter, Heather. Duane was a loving husband to wife Jeanie for 29 years. He cared for his children: Cindi Barr (Jarrod), Larry Sanders (Kristin) and Tiffany Sanders (Cody Price). He found true joy in his grandchildren: Paula, Rylee, Kadence, and Carter. He leaves behind one brother: Bill Sanders. Graduating from Chandler High in 1967, he went on to become owner and operator of Circle K in Gilbert, AZ. After retiring he enjoyed fishing the Alaskan waters, playing a game of draw poker and collecting just about anything.
