A viewing will be held Monday, Dec. 6, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way in Mesa. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 10 AM also at Bunker’s Garden Chapel.

James (Jim) Patrick Wheeler, 73 of Mesa AZ passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 in Houston, TX where he had gone for cancer treatment. He was born on February 18, 1937 in Kansas City, MO. He worked as a Federal Fire Fighter at Williams AFB for 20 years and after retiring worked security at the LDS Mesa, Arizona Temple. In his spare time Jim enjoyed archaeology, traveling, and reading. He is survived by his wife Carla (McMullin) Wheeler, daughter Katharine Martineau (Rodney), sons Jon Wheeler and Michael Wheeler, grandson James K. Martineau (Melissa), granddaughter Michelle Martineau, sisters Judy Kyle and Suzanne Minner and brother Jerry Wheeler. Services will be held December 3, 2010 at the Desert Ridge Stake Center, 3440 S Signal Butte Rd, Mesa, AZ with a visitation at 10:00 am and services at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements by Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N Centennial Way Mesa, AZ

Robert Stanton Gildehous, 81, born May 8, 1929 to Earl Gildehous and Nancy Maude Werst, in Lawrence, Kansas, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of November 16, 2010 surrounded by his family. He graduated from Mesa High School in 1948 and after graduation enlisted in the Navy. After his honorable service with the Navy, Bob went to work for Western Electric and then in later years worked for AT&T as a Network Engineer where he retired in 1987. He enjoyed many hobbies, which included fishing, building model airplanes, working on jigsaw puzzles and reading a good western. He will always be remembered as a man who loved his family. Leonard and Tricia Colpitts died on November 14th. Leonard was 57 and Tricia was 53. They are survived by 4 children and one grandchild; Kenneth 28, Joann 27, Lynn 24, Jake 23 and his wife Stephanie 23, and their son Dylan, 1. Leonard was born in Malta, Montana and joined the army at 17. He has two masters degrees and continued his education until his death. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and archery. Tricia was born in Salt Lake CityUT and met Leonard in Rock Springs Wyoming the day Leonard got out of the Army. She followed him to the University of Wyoming and they were married May 27, 1976 in Green River Wyoming. Tricia graduated nursing school in 1979 and obtained her doctorate of nursing practice in 2008. They were devoted parents and grandparents and still very much in love when they died. They are loved and will be dearly missed. Services will be held at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, 2213 N. Lindsey Rd. Mesa, AZ 85213. There will be a vigil Friday the 19th at 7pm and a funeral mass Saturday the 20th at 10 am.

Leonard and Tricia Colpitts died on November 14th. Leonard was 57 and Tricia was 53. Pickens, William Bruce. Bill Pickens of Tempe, Arizona passed away on November 12, 2010, at the age of 79 after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife, Loretta; three sons, Gary (Colleen), Bruce (Chloe), and John (Suging); two step-sons, Riff Hall (Corrine), Ed Hall; sister Betty Jo Patterson (Roy); 14 wonderful grandchildren and 8 terrific great-grandchildren. Bill was a native of Mesa, Arizona and was proudly retired from the United State Air Force as a Lt Colonel. Visitation will be Friday, November 19 from 1-3 PM at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way in Mesa followed by interment in the City of Mesa Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 10 AM at Friendship Village Skirm Auditorium, 2625 E. Southern Ave. in Tempe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The American Heart Association.

Adam DeLeon Bermea, 76, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2010. He was born in Nixon, TX. Adam is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Lou; son, Adam Jr.; daughters Sylvia and Christine Bermea, four adopted children; two sisters, Eva Alvarez and Enedina Lopez. Adam was preceded in death by his son, Arnold Bermea. The viewing will be held Friday, November 19, 2010, from 6-8 PM at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 20th at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1244 S. Power Road, Mesa, AZ. Adam enjoyed watching John Wayne movies including the encores. He also enjoyed singing and playing his guitar. Adam was a strong and very determined man. He died with dignity.

Survivors include his wife Marjie Brown Vance, daughters, Kristin Brown, Marcia Johnson, and Marianne Ricks, 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation is Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010 from 6-8 pm at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way in Mesa and 9-9:30 AM prior to the services. Funeral services are Monday, Nov. 15 at 10 AM at the LDS church at 4170 S. Ranch House Pkwy. in Gilbert.

Jack Cedric White
1929/02/13 - 2010/11/09

Jack C. White, 81, died Tuesday Nov 9, 2010 in Mesa, AZ. He was born in Wabash County, IL to Sereno and Violet Seibert White. He was the president of the FFA in high school and helped with the family farm. After graduation Jack continued to farm with his father and had a variety of jobs including working as a Culligan man, a gas station attendant and then a mechanic and later a foreman at the Ford dealership. Jack also joined the Mt Carmel City police force as a police officer. He married Leila Jean Witsman of Mt. Carmel and they had three children together. He moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1962. Jack worked at Al Klunder’s gas station in Maryvale, where he met his current wife Verlie Nelson. Jack worked at the Phoenix Water Plant for over 25 years. He was willing to help anyone put on a roof, paint a house, or fix something that was broken. He loved helping others and was generous with his time and means. He was a playful tease to those he loved. No one was a stranger to Jack. Jack was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and worked into his seventies with the cub scout program. He loved teaching boys how to work with wood, power equipment, and how to build things. Over the years he developed a great love for family history and spent many hours searching and working on his geneology. Jack is survived by his wife of 43 years Verlie Nelson White and his children Jack White Jr. (Teri), Jane White, Jean White (Joan), Bob Nesbit and Frances Davis (Don), 23 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Friday, November 12th from 6-7:30 PM at Bunker’s University Chapel, 3529 E. University Dr. in Mesa. Funeral services will be held at 10.00 AM on Saturday November 13th at the LDS Church on 616 S Extension Rd. in Mesa, AZ.

James Forrest Warnock, Jr.
1926/03/13 - 2010/11/07

Col. James F. Warnock, Jr. (ret), our dear husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away from causes related to stroke on Sunday, November 7. He was born March 13, 1926, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was a veteran of the Korean War, during which he was awarded a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in action, and served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. Jim was awarded the Legion of Merit, three times and served as a member of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and served on the Army Staff. He loved his country. Following retirement from the Army in 1974, he served the State of Arizona as Director of the Solar Energy Research Commission until 1987. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret Udall Warnock, daughters Ann Johnson (Scott), Karen White (Tom), Mary Grass (Bill), and Patricia Johnson (Mike), and son Jamie Warnock (Noreen). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren. Funeral services are Friday, November 12, 2010 at 10 AM preceded by a visitation at 9 AM at the LDS Mountain Vista Ward, 10305 East Southern Ave. in Mesa. The family is especially grateful for the kind care given Jim by Grace Hospice and the Copper Cottage Hospice House in Mesa during his final days. In lieu of flowers please send donation to Grace Hospice.
