Cremation Service Options
Some people believe that they are limited in the service options available to them if they choose cremation. This is not true. Those who choose cremation have the option to have visitations and funeral services, just like those who choose burial. Below are the service and merchandise options available to those who choose cremation for their loved one.
Visitation
A visitation, often called a viewing, is an opportunity for friends and family to gather socially, usually with the casket and deceased loved one present. In the case of cremation, a cremation casket can be purchased, or a casket with a special insert can be rented from the funeral home.
Visitations can be done at one of Bunker’s beautiful facilities, or at another location of your choice. They can be open to the public or by invitation only.
Funeral Services
A funeral service is a more formal setting that allows friends and family to gather and celebrate the life of their lost loved one. It typically includes written speeches, songs, and shared memories, but of course, you can celebrate in the way you see fit.
A funeral usually takes place in one of our chapels, or at an offsite church building.
The word “funeral” implies that the body is present.
Memorial Service
A memorial service is just like a funeral service in terms of purpose, form, and location. However, at a memorial service, the body of the deceased person is not present, or is present after the cremation has taken place.
Identification Viewing
An identification viewing is typically a short, private gathering that allows your family to spend time with your loved one’s body before the cremation process begins.
Many funeral homes charge extra for this viewing, but at Bunker, we see it as an important part of the healing process. As such, it is included in our basic cremation service.
Lantern Release
Though many places have extra charges for people to see their loved one again, we believe this is an important part of the healing process and it’s included in our basic cremation service.
Catered REception
Though many places have extra charges for people to see their loved one again, we believe this is an important part of the healing process and it’s included in our basic cremation service.
Merchandise
Urns
We understand the sacred nature of cremation, and are proud to provide you with the best selection of urns. From bronze to marble to wood, we are here to help you find the perfect, personal tribute to your loved one’s legacy.
URN VAULTS
If you choose to pursue burial after cremation, urn vaults are available to provide protection for the urn and the cremated remains of your loved one.
